Today, we visited Le Musée des Arts et Métiers. Basically, it’s a museum of science and industry and it is fascinating. We returned to le quartier in mid-afternoon and I was undecided about going to Notre Dame. I realized that this is un gros affaire and headed out.
A quick lunch from the boulangerie around the corner and then the afternoon at Giverny. A wonderful dinner at Le Petit Cler and then the terrible news about Notre Dame.
This morning, we attended Palm Sunday Mass at Saint-Pierre du Gros-Caillou. This afternoon, we did a bus tour of central Paris. Today was the Paris Marathon, with 50,000 runners. I’ve never seen more people on the street; it was incredible.
We had a super dinner at Léon de Bruxelles. Moule et frites, d’accord! Aussi un Duvel. im occasionally amazed at my own stupidity. I’ve stayed in the same apartment since 2016. Just yesterday, I discovered that the door under the oven was a dishwasher! À bientôt! Jeff
Today was my sauce class at La Cuisine Paris. It was interesting and informative and I’m glad I did it. Afterwards, I met up with Jerry and Sue for some time at the Louvre. Then, I walked back to the apartment. A rather long walk.
A walk through the Marais and lunch, on the street, at L’as du Fallafel. Dinner with Sue and Jerry, celebrating Sue’s birthday. A good day.
My previous post was rather brief. A bit more info is in order.
I arrived in Paris yesterday. After gaining access to the apartment (This is the fourth year I’ve rented the same apartment in rue Augereau), I went on a specialized shopping trip for Kiki and me. Of course, this was to the grand Louis Vuitton store on Champs-Elyées. Everything on the list was purchased and what bargains they were...really! With a favorable exchange rate and the VAT refund, it’s a deal. Tonight, I went to the small restaurant, at the end of the street, and had a wonderful pizza. Afterwards, in the twilight, I walked through Champs des Mars. The apartment is about five minutes from La Tour Eiffel. |
