​On Mondays, the Chateau de Versailles is closed but the gardens are open. It’s a great chance to wander around without the crowds. With a Navigo Découvert (weekly pass), it’s a free trip. It was a bit chilly but thoroughly enjoyable. 
 
I was back in Paris for most of the afternoon. Late, I spent time in Champ de Mars, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, reading a novel and enjoying a cigar. I also visited the “dog park,” also in Champ de Mars, where people meet up with their canine family members. This is the Paris that I love.
 
Then, very late in the afternoon, an assiette of charcuterie and a cocktail. 
 
Dinner was at Le Recrutement. It was unremarkable and will not be added to the Paris Info page. Désolé.
