Today was for shopping. YSL is for Kiki and the watch is for me. The wallet was easy. The watch was quite the ordeal. For the wallet, I walked in and bought it. The watch was a bit more complicated; I waited in line for 2 1/2 hours. There is a line EVERY DAY for that day’s shipment. The line starts forming one hour before the store opens at 10:00 AM
On Mondays, the Chateau de Versailles is closed but the gardens are open. It’s a great chance to wander around without the crowds. With a Navigo Découvert (weekly pass), it’s a free trip. It was a bit chilly but thoroughly enjoyable.
I was back in Paris for most of the afternoon. Late, I spent time in Champ de Mars, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, reading a novel and enjoying a cigar. I also visited the “dog park,” also in Champ de Mars, where people meet up with their canine family members. This is the Paris that I love. Then, very late in the afternoon, an assiette of charcuterie and a cocktail. Dinner was at Le Recrutement. It was unremarkable and will not be added to the Paris Info page. Désolé. À bientôt , Jeff |
